The way he describes the witless belief is right on point. Especially when he said "There are six billion people on this planet, and Jehovah's Witnesses look forward to seeing them all die, and they truly hope the end of the world will happen in our lifetime." He got a bird's eye view of witless life and it didn't take him long to figure out that their "extremist, fundamentalist views" really close them off from the rest of society. Funny, how after being around witlesses he actaully agreed with the GB in that "these people should only date other Jehovah's Witnesses. No one else can have such a narrow, close-minded view of humanity as them".

man long ago left the natural order of things that keep the earth as a living habitat in balance and healthy.. he now manipulates the earth to make it bend to his wishes so that he can create paper (worthless profit), accumulate multiples of what he needs to survive and make himself as comfortable as he possibly can.. as the billions in the developing countries become more consumptive the world will eventually be used up.. that will be the true armageddon that mankind will face.

When one leaves JW's sometimes it's hard to leave the 'sky is falling' mentality behind. Bottom line - don't worry about things you cannot change but if you DO want to get involved in creating change then find an organization to support. As Satanus said, there are many people who are working for change and conservation.

What Things Did You Never Really Comprehend As A Witness?

i never could clearly explain the "faithful slave's domestics", as the watchtower tries to.

i would quote the publications but i did not believe that the explanation was at all satisfactory......was there anything you just couldn't "get"?

The revision of the "generation" doctrine still has me stumped.
When I ask other JWs to explain, they quote the WT articles verbatim. Proof positive they have no clue either.

There's a lot of bulls**t on this thread, but this here is the MOTHER LOAD!!!!!

I actually thought I understood the chronology - either that or I just memorized it so I would not look like a fool in front of a study. A lot of that other stuff like the trupet blasts, types/anti-types stuff just made me feel uncomfortable (can you say cognitive dissonance???) but the failed prediction about the prophecy of Dainiel tore me apart. I actually believed that BS .

can't help it - i learned it from my mommy.

so if i am angry and feel like throwing stuff or hitting something/someone i do sneaky stuff instead.

I used to behave that way. It's a hard habit to break and too painful to hold onto. I got the feeling that people were always walking all over me.

I went from being passive/aggressive to being overly agressive; now I practice being assertive/compassionate . It works wonders .

I remember one particular Sunday meeting. I really didn't want to go. Since it was a nice New England fall day, my husband didn't comment when I wore my long rain coat. However, we arrived a the hall (late as usual) and sat down. A few minutes in, my husband leaned over and said why don't you take your coat off. I said, "I can't I'm naked". Needless to say, we didn't stay for very long.
Good times, good times....

I didn't have to actually leave - I had kids. The last two years I spent most of the time in the ladies room or mother's room . My Tressa boo was such a fussy little baby .

Don't think it went unnoticed. There were a few talks about sisters spending too much time in the mother's/restroom. I just ignored them. By then I had become so rebellious anything they said I blatently and gleefully did the opposite . It was like being a teenager all over again!

Hey Min! Your mom is da bomb! She's ole school though, you know she can see through their BS. How can the botchtower society say they do NOT break up families, when its apparant that's what these elders are trying to do in every way? First, they deleted her as a pio. for going to 'her grandaughters' wedding, then they imply that minimus is not a good son .... and to put the kaibash on the bulls*it "REMEMBER, WE ARE YOUR FAMILY" (Luke, I am your faaaaaaaaaaaaathe, search your heart boy, you knoooooooooooowwww this to be true - Darth Vadar, Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back (?)
